Pathway 5

The focus of this pathway is on providing advice to the GEO community on how to ethically engage communities and work with Indigenous knowledge, cultural values and epistemologies.

Objectives

• Establish safeguards for community participants

• Ensure the GEO community understands and respects the legal rights of Indigenous Peoples 

• Promote the use and co-design of culturally appropriate and inclusive GEO technologies 

• Promote the CARE Principles for Indigenous Data Governance
